…Maker of Something Out of Nothing

life plus jesus

I’m so thankful that He doesn’t allow me to remain in my nothing. Despite us, He loves us. Despite us, He’s made a way for us to become new.

For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago. Ephesians 2:10 (NLT)

…Catchy Tune

My prayer, today, is that we catch on to and embrace His goodness; that we allow ourselves to be completely caught up and engulfed in His majesty, His faithfulness, His promises, His mercy and His grace. Please press play to listen to the tune that caught my heart this week. Happy Friday!

Never give up, never give in. Never let go of His promises. We’re clinging to the glory of the Cross. You never give up, you never give in. Lord, Jesus You’re the faithful Friend. We’re running for the glory of the Lord. ♪

Faithful is He Who is calling you to Himself, and utterly trustworthy, and He will also do it [fulfill His call by hallowing and keeping you]. 1 Thessalonians 5:24 (AMP)

…Construction Site

under construction

Everyday, I encounter such a simple, humbling truth: I am flawed and far from perfection. (Did I say “far”?) Just like Paul, I find myself in inner conflict and repeatedly doing the exact opposite of what I actually want to do. Speaking unwholesome talk; putting myself before another; snoozing past the time I’ve set aside to spend with Him. *Sigh* But thank God, that in each convicting moment, He presents hope. He takes my lack of expectation in becoming any better and uses it (again and again) as an opportunity to turn my heart toward Him and the realization that He is working on me.

It was a perfect sacrifice by a perfect person to perfect some very imperfect people. By that single offering, He did everything that needed to be done for everyone who takes part in the purifying process. Hebrews 10:14 (MSG)

In His perfection, He made the utmost sacrifice to make it possible for us to be purified and perfected. In turn, we are His construction sites. Daily, He is working on our hearts and our minds – pruning and disciplining us; digging out the junk and building new. All, in order to complete the construction, accomplish and carry through to the end what He designed and began; to bring to a successful conclusion, to fulfill and achieve spiritual maturity.

There has never been the slightest doubt in my mind that the God who started this great work in you would keep at it and bring it to a flourishing finish on the very day Christ Jesus appears. Philippians 1:6 (MSG)

We cannot perfect ourselves; only He can. We are His loving work in progress. He gives us grace through it all and desires that we give grace to ourselves.

“There is hope for me yet / Because God won’t forget / All the plans He’s made for me / I have to wait and see / He’s not finished with me yet”  Wait and See, Brandon Heath

…Consistent Repeat

Yesterday, we proclaimed Jesus be a Throwback Thursday, everyday. Today, I’m reminded that He knows my needs. Today, I’m encouraged to know that He’s the same now that He was back then. His blessings in our lives are on consistent repeat.

Press play to listen. And, just so you know, my hubs and I are geeked about Tye Tribbett’s new album – Greater Than – set to release in June!

…Powerful Influence

Therefore, God elevated Him to the place of highest honor and gave Him the name above all other names, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. Philippians 2:9-11 (NLT)

He promises to do whatever we ask in His name. What an awesome influence His name has in our every situation. It’s powerful; It’s reliable; His name makes a difference. Simply said, “…if you want His power you gotta call His name.”
